Flicker in 2006Speedoggie I'm On Fire - Flicker , Border Collie

Flicker is my first Speedoggie (Mayhem x Frenzy) puppy.  She is a truly amazing dog and I have to thank Chris Parker ( www.speedoggie.com ) for breeding her and making her mine.  I’ll never forget the moment Chris handed me “Merlyn” and said this puppy is yours.  I was completely floored, not expecting this merlie girlie to be coming home with me.  She is a petite 18.75” tall, 27 pound bundle of power, often surprising people when we step to the line in the 24” height class.

Flicker is my princess (sometimes called rock star) - taking after her mother - and boy does she know it.   She was born right after Speedoggie Camp 2004, during a thunderstorm with no electricity.  Honest, I was there; I still had not made it home from camp that year staying to wait the anticipated arrival of this litter.

She is just the sweetest dog who loves being with you.  Her work ethic is amazing and her jumping ability is just beautiful.  And, she’s a thinker.  Once Flicker has it something you better be ready to move on with things, and fast. She made her agility debut on January 28, 2006 in Timonium, Maryland.

Flicker loves her older brothers, new sister Tease, puppies and playing with her mom.  She started herding at 9 months old loved it.  I have to say sheep and ducks are just way too cool for her and, in her opinion; there just are not enough of them in CT!

The weave poles are her favorite agility obstacle.  And, since she is a princess, Flicker tends to get whatever she wants. Oh, and she has her very own dog walk, in pink of course!

She often comes to Flying High lessons and seminars and helps out as the “demo” dog.  She’s been doing this since she was 8-weeks old and she loves being the center of attention.

Flicker is a Delta Society Pet Partner, passing the certification at just 2.5 years old.  She loves reading with the younger kids and will sit looking at them patiently while they work out words and sentences. Watch out if you are not paying attention to the reader because she’ll give you a sharp look and get you right in line.  She’s a fierce Candy Land player - preferring the yellow man – and she can pick her card and move her man if the kids point for her.  She’s also been known to deflate a few basketballs in the Yerwood Center gym.  Those things are not BC proof.

Flicker needs coffee every morning to fully wake up and please, hazelnut cream is a must.
