Jewel was my first dog. She taught me a lot about dogs, training and life in general. We grew to love agility together.

Adopted at age 7 or so we attended obedience classes for several months. One night we stumbled onto an agility class. I thank Val Reiner for those early classes and helping Jewel and I develop a passion for the sport. After the first week we were hooked!

In memory of JewelJewel competed for 2 years beginning at about age 8. Jewel loved to play agility best in her yard and in class. She became very stressed by the whole show environment but managed to overcome that after time. She was happy to retire and cheer on her brother Bogart from the sidelines. When Torch came along she welcomed him into her life and helped teach him the ins and outs of puppyhood.

When not playing agility, Jewel loved to snuggle on the couch, eat cookies, take a hike in the woods, play tug, go camping and lie in the yard watching the world go by.

Jewel is missed everyday. She will always hold a very special place in my heart.
